The "dog or cat" debate is a constant topic among animal lovers. Who will win this fierce battle?

"Who do you like better, A or B?" Controversy has often been a heated debate among people since time immemorial as an eternal theme.

Do you prefer Japanese food or Western food?
Do you prefer Japanese or Western movies?
The sea or the mountains?
Sushi or yakiniku?
Do you prefer Japanese or Western music?

The list is endless. Among the many debates over which one is favorite, this is probably the most common theme among people. I am sure that you have been asked this question at least once, or have asked it yourself.

Dogs and cats are representative pets, and each has its own charm.

Some people have a clear preference for one or the other, while others have changed over the years, from this way in the past to that way now! There must be some people who are in a difficult situation. Of course, there are also those who don't like dogs or cats that much, or are not very good at them.

This time, we conducted a survey on the simple yet profound topic of "dog- or cat-owners" to find out the reality of the situation.

Do you prefer dogs or cats? In this survey, the winner of this showdown was...

Dogs: 46.9%
Cats: 33.6%
Neither: 19.5%

The dog group won!
We had thought that the cat faction might be in the lead due to the recent cat boom, but it turns out that the dog faction is actually in the majority.
By gender and age, the dog group was dominated by men, while the cat group was dominated by women. The proportion of male dog owners increased with age.

Does the closeness of your personality to yourself lead to favoritism?

Looking at the personality tendencies of both dog- and cat-people, the results showed that cat-people were more than 10 pt higher than dog-people in the categories of "shy," "not good at group activities," "indoor," and "sensitive.

Speaking of cats, they act alone at their own pace, do not need to be walked outside every day, and do not seem to immediately miss strangers very much. For cat people, the similarity to their own personality is one of the factors that make them like cats...or is it?

And the different images we see from each.

Looking at the images of both dogs and cats, dogs are "friendly," "loyal," and "smart," while cats are "capricious," "free," and "selfish. When these images were examined by dog and cat groups, it was found that there was a large difference in the images of each group!

In particular, the cat group thought that cats were "sweet-natured," "clean-cut," and "friendly," but the dog group did not think so. Perhaps it is because they like to interact with cats that they can see a side of cats that is different from the external image they have of them.

Finally, we asked the dog- and cat-oriented people to talk about the appeal of each!

Dog Attractions

"They are super happy to see their masters come home, it's adorable."
" Smart, obedient, and trustworthy as a partner"
"Loyal and learns tricks"
"Attractive to police dogs, guide dogs, etc."
"Their facial expressions are wonderful. I like the way they directly express how much they like you. Their pampered nature is cute"
"I love their faces. I love the way they look. I love the way they laugh, the way they look sad, the way they look happy, the way they are so full of joy, I love it all."

Cat Attractiveness

"Their fluffy bellies, their soft paw pads, and how cute they are when they play with each other. "
"They are mysterious, "tsundere", and have a good sense of distance. "
"I love his whimsy. When I want to play with him, he doesn't bother me, but when I'm busy, he spoils me! "
"He only spoils his owner. I love the fact that he only spoils me when I'm his owner, and when I notice him, he is right next to me. When I'm away from home, she quietly sees me off and picks me up. Everything they do and how they act is adorable! Cats themselves are adorable."
"It seems free-spirited and selfish, but in fact, it is also rustic, which is attractive."
"All of the cats. They are not flirtatious, but they don't want to be ignored, they are selfish and noble."

A number of comments were full of love, such as.

Dogs are also very artistic, learning to do things such as sit and sit on their hands, and they can also serve as guard dogs and watchdogs.

Many people seem to be captivated by cats because of their fickleness and tsundere. Many others said that they are addicted to their paw pads because they are so aromatic.

Conclusion

In this survey, the question "Do you prefer dogs or cats? The results of the survey showed that many respondents were in the dog group, but we could see from the answers that both dogs and cats are cute and attractive.

The interesting thing about this theme is that we never know when a dog person may change his/her mind from a dog person to a cat person or from a cat person to a dog person, and when a downfall may occur.

Cross Marketing will continue to follow the dog-cat controversy!
